When does season start? What night is practice? When are the games played? Plus more FAQ’s.

When does the season start?
For Under 7 and older players, season starts the week of October 15. Our Under 5’s & 6’s start 2 weeks later on Saturday, October 27.

Coaches for Under 7 and older will get their team roster on Saturday, October 13. They will contact their players by phone and/or email that weekend: practice starts that week.

Under 5 & Under 6 families will be contacted the week of October 22 by email.

If you do not hear from your coach, contact the Division Rep for your age group. Click here for the list of DR’s.

What are New Player Evaluations?

New Players in our U9 and older age groups will be evaluated – usually during our Friday night pick-up games. All must be evaluated for their skill level or they cannot be placed on teams because we want our teams to be as balanced as possible. These are not try outs. All children will be placed on teams that complete their evaluation.

Are any Requests and Pre-assignments allowed?
Before our teams our built, we allow pre-assignment requests – but only for our volunteer coaches, assistant coaches in U7 and older, and team managers in U5 and U6. We will also consider requests by sponsors. Even then, in no case will we allow more than 2 players to be assigned to the same team. Our head coaches (and team managers) may request/accept either another coach/manager or a sponsor for their team.

Once our volunteers and their children have been pre-assigned to teams, we will review choices by sponsors to be aligned with coaches, and we will accommodate those that we can. We then generate team rosters without any further adjustments.

What night is practice?
Your coach will let you know which week night is your team’s practice night. Please do not request to switch teams to accommodate other schedules you may have. With 2,000 players in SABR, we cannot make these changes.

When are games played?
SABR Boys and Girls play one (and occasionally a second) game on weekends. Most of the games are played on Saturdays. Some games are played on Friday evenings and Sundays. We have never been able to determine more precisely until we know how many kids are registered and we build teams in early October.

How much does it cost?
The fee for the season is $155. Plus the City of Boca Raton charges a $65 Non-Resident fee for each player that does not reside in the Greater Boca Raton Beach & Park District. (Click for map).

Fees are charged during the online checkout process.

What about refunds?
SABR will honor all refund requests up to September 30, 2018, less a $ 25.00 administrative fee. Your registration fee helps pay for uniforms, insurance, equipment and coaches training. These expenses are paid in advance of our 2018 – 2019 season and cannot be recouped. All requests must be in writing and received (or post marked) by September 30, 2018.

Please note: our teams are built after September 30. We understand that, at times, this means some parents need to adjust their schedules once teams are built and practice schedules are issued. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, however, our 40 years’ experience has shown this to be the only workable alternative for families and SABR alike. We will not issue refunds requested after September 30.

How do I register?
To register, go to http://www.sabrsoccer.net/how-to-register/. Click on one of the blue buttons for either returning or new players. You will be re-directed to our registration program.

When does Registration close?
Registration ends on September 16. All children who are registered will be place on teams.

Is there a Wait List?
We open our registration program to Wait List status on September 17. We will try to place every child that registers by September 30 on a team. If placed on a team, you will hear from your coach the weekend of October 13 – 14.

The Wait List stays open throughout the season. In November, we fill individual team needs from the Wait List. After that, if needs come up, we will also access the Wait List.

In all cases, you will be contacted by a SABR Administrator if a roster spot becomes available. We cannot guarantee your child a roster spot if on the Wait List.
